In the wake of COVID-19, we believe it is vital to recognize the efforts of grocery workers who ensure the shelves remain stocked with essential items for our customers. It means so much to us when others recognize our team members’ hard work as well.
Farm Rich, one of the nation’s leading frozen snacks and appetizers brands, follows the same philosophy of celebrating essential workers through its “Snacktion Heroes” initiative. This program is designed to provide people across the country with the opportunity to nominate employees for the incredible work they do. Each “hero” will then be recognized weekly for the positive impact they have on the communities they serve.
We are pleased to announce that a Meijer team member from Kent County, Mich. has been selected as a 2020 “Snacktion Hero.” Laura Drummond, a bakery team member from the Solon Township Meijer, was selected from a pool of nearly 600 nominees originating from all over the country.
“I was so excited to be nominated and chosen as a Snacktion Hero,” Drummond said. “To receive recognition for coming to work and doing what I love to do is amazing. My teammates deserve this award just as much as I do."
As a “Snacktion Hero” winner, Drummond got to pick a charity of her choice to receive a $500 donation from Farm Rich. She chose City Impact Cedar Springs, a local ministry-led outreach program dedicated to serving the Cedar Springs community.
“Laura is always read to help when and where it is needed,” said Alice Thompson, a bakery team lead. “Her customer service is the absolute best and she is a wonderful asset to the bakery team at Meijer.”
