Just like your refrigerator at home, our refrigeration systems use gases to keep food at the right temperature. Meijer works hard to prevent these gases from leaking because they can be more than 4,000 times more potent than carbon dioxide as a greenhouse gas. We also work to use refrigerant gases that are less harmful to the climate. Meijer has achieved several awards for best-in-class refrigerant gas management from the EPA GreenChill partnership.
