Last month, a group of Indiana Meijer team members bundled and masked up to help feed families in their community.

The group volunteered with Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana – the largest food bank and hunger relief charity in the state. Since COVID-19, Gleaners re-engineered their food distributions to a drive-through model, so extra hands are always appreciated. The team spent the better part of an afternoon loading up trunks with essential items for their fellow Hoosiers.

Meijer is a long-time partner of Gleaners. Since March 2020, we’ve donated:

• More than 380,000 lbs. of products
• $5,000 for their Emergency Family Food Box program
• Two semi-truckloads of Meijer laundry detergent

We are so proud of our team members for taking our commitment to ending food insecurity in our communities into their own hands.
