In 2018, we were excited to not only open one of our first Meijer supercenters in the Upper Peninsula – in Marquette, Mich. – but also present a $25,000 donation to the Beacon House on opening day. Our team chose that organization knowing it would directly impact the lives of our new neighbors in the community, especially as they’re receiving medical care.
Four years later, Store Director John Spaulding and Line Leader Stephani Cramer were delighted to attend the grand opening of the new Steve Mariucci Family Beacon House – and see the store’s donation come to fruition.
“The Beacon House raised $3 million for its new facility, and we are very proud to have celebrated the grand opening,” Meijer Store Director John Spaulding said. “This is a significant achievement and we’re honored that Meijer was able to lend a hand and see the success of this important project.”
For more than 30 years, the Beacon House has provided patients and their families with a safe and affordable place to stay while receiving medical care in the Upper Peninsula. When it was announced a new hospital would be built on the other side of town, Beacon House launched a fundraising campaign to build a new facility closer to the hospital.
Meijer congratulates the Steve Mariucci Beacon House’s growth and accomplishment of its new facility to support families in need.
