October is LGBTQ+ History Month – a time to celebrate the achievements of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer icons. But, like many events lately, celebrations to honor this month were put on hold due to COVID-19.
That’s why we were so excited to sponsor a Pride event in Cleveland that was able to creatively overcome the challenges of social distancing. Instead of a typical Pride event, planners transitioned to a parade of cars, calling it the Pride Ride. Meijer was a sponsor of the event and several members of our Team Member Resource Group (TMRG) Meijer Pride participated. In all, Meijer had 17 people in eight cars representing our group.
