Many of our youngest customers were disappointed to see Sandy retire to her stable earlier this spring so we could ensure a clean environment in our stores, but students in Saginaw, Mich., decided to make the best of it.
An eighth-grade class at Swan Valley Community Schools had the idea to cover Sandy’s area in the store with messages of thanks for Meijer team members so, when she returns, a wall of gratitude will be there to greet her.
The idea took off when they asked friends and parents to help them. Sandy’s area is now wallpapered with heartfelt notes of thanks from families across the area. The students also dropped off snacks for our team members as one more way of showing their appreciation. Take a look at some of our favorite notes above.
