One Michigan-based company took the opportunity to show its appreciation for the frontline workers of another earlier this month. Hudsonville Ice Cream, based in Holland, Mich., shares our West Michigan roots and passion for the Midwest, so when they approached us about partnering to send a special “thank you” to our team members, we were sweet on the idea.
"Everyone from the Hudsonville team felt the need to say more than just thank you for keeping our communities moving forward during the coronavirus pandemic,” said CJ Ellens, an owner of Hudsonville Ice Cream. “We wanted to celebrate every Meijer Team Member with a gift of a pint of ice cream as our way of saying thank you as you serve on the front lines every day. We hope it made your day a little sweeter!"
Hudsonville worked with our Merchandising and Logistics Teams to arrange a donation of 82,000 pints of ice cream to be delivered through our supply chain directly to our team members in stores and distribution centers. Thank you, Hudsonville, for your generosity. Our team members could not have been more pleased and appreciative of the surprise sweet treat!
Our teams aren’t the only essential workers Hudsonville is recognizing with the gift of ice cream. Learn more about the creamery’s Random Acts of Ice Cream program here.
