Having attended the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give for the last 5 years, Kristin Brouwers considers herself an expert spectator, but this year she wants more.
“This will be my first year as a volunteer,” said Brouwers, who works on the Meijer Marketing Team. “Every year, the tournament gets better and better, and I wanted to do more to support the community and be involved in a more meaningful way.”
Brouwers has taken advantage of the wide variety of volunteer opportunities by supporting the Pro-Am events held earlier during tournament week.
“I really wanted to see and experience some of the events that aren’t part of the general tournament experience that I have been accustomed to,” she said. “Volunteering for things like the Pro-Am is giving me exposure to additional aspects that I wouldn’t normally get to experience.”
Brouwers said she’s excited to be able to be both a volunteer and a spectator for this year’s event held June 9-14 at Blythefield Country Club.
“I’m looking forward to extending a hand throughout the week as a volunteer and also attending the tournament as a spectator that weekend with my family,” she said.
