The Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give is looking for more volunteers than ever – 1,200 to be exact – to help ensure this tournament remains one of the premier stops on the LPGA Tour.
“The tournament has come a long way over the years, and it’s truly become a family event the entire community can enjoy, and one considered top notch on the LPGA Tour,” said Cathy Cooper, Executive Director of the Meijer LPGA Classic.
In fact, the LPGA recently recognized the tournament as the Most Family Friendly and Best “Foodie” Experience on Tour.
“But it takes a village of fantastic volunteers to reach that level and ours are dedicated to the tournament’s continued success,” Cooper said.
The volunteers will fill roles on 28 different committees, ranging from marshals and standard bearers to transportation and assisting inside the media center. Volunteers get access to the tournament for family and friends, meals and beverages during their shifts, and golf apparel among other perks.
And because the tournament needs a record number of volunteers this year, the “Refer A Friend” program is coming back. That means volunteers will be eligible for a $20 Meijer gift card when they refer a friend who did not volunteer during the 2019 tournament.
