To fully embrace the company you work for, Charlie Mollien believes you should jump right in and get your feet wet.
In his case, he helped pass out food during the Grand Taste at the Meijer LPGA Classic. Mollien was volunteering at one of the events during the annual Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give.
“As a leader, it’s important to lead by example,” said Mollien, a Director on the Pharmacy Team at the Meijer Corporate office. “I feel privileged to work for a company that supports me by giving me an opportunity to be part of it. This event is important to Meijer, a ton of fun and is a great way to raise money for Simply Give.”
Simply Give is the retailer’s signature hunger relief program. Since it’s inception in 2008, nearly $46 million has been generated to help stock the shelves of food pantries across the Midwest.
The previous five tournaments contributed more than $4.2 million to that total.
“Companies like Meijer that do so much for their communities are an important part of our communities,” he said. “Not all companies give back as much as Meijer does.”
Mollien has volunteered for the past two tournaments and is looking forward to this year’s held June 11-16 at Blythefield Country Club.
