To support Michigan dairy farmers and fill a need at the Greater Lansing Food Bank, Meijer accepted the #10GallonChallenge from Michigan Lt. Gov. Brian Calley.
But, instead of donating 10 gallons of milk, Meijer donated 100 gallons and $2,500 to the food bank that was recently robbed of computers, money and other items. The food bank provides emergency food to more than 140 food pantries, shelters and community kitchens in mid-Michigan.
“We’re always looking for fresh milk,” said Joe Wald, Executive Director of the Greater Lansing Food Bank. “Everybody needs it. Everybody loves it. When we can get it, it’s really special.”
And now it’s time for Meijer to pass the challenge on. Please click here to watch Meijer challenge the University of Michigan Athletics Department.
