To help kick off the Kentucky Derby Festival, Thunder Over Louisville announced this year’s show will be held April 23. The event, known for its dynamic air show production, has attracted an estimated half million people, including area residents in Louisville and southern Indiana.
The 2016 Thunder Over Louisville theme, No Strings Attached, will offer a unique show that everyone in the family can enjoy. A few acts include the U.S. Navy parachute team, the Leap Frogs, the Trojan Horsemen T-28 demo team, as well as an impressive display of fireworks. The show will also feature a special soundtrack, with a wide range of music from urban contemporary and pop to country and rock & roll.
Aside from providing entertainment for the local community, Thunder Over Louisville is the region’s largest annual event that benefits other local nonprofit organizations, including the Louisville Science Center, Kentucky Center for the Arts, Louisville Slugger Museum, Easter Seals, Actors Theatre of Louisville, the Louisville Ballet and the Belle of Louisville.
