Skies cleared after a rainy start to the fourth and final day of play at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give and after a tight leaderboard throughout the day, Canadian LPGA Professional Brooke M. Henderson won the 2017 tournament.
Henderson won the tournament by two strokes—over past champions Lexi Thompson and Sei Young Kim—with a four-round 17-under par total. In spirit of Father’s Day, she dedicated her tournament win to her father, who is also her coach.
During the closing ceremonies, Meijer also announced it had set a record and surpassed its fundraising goal of $1 million for the Simply Give program that restocks food pantry shelves across the Midwest. The $1 million donation will be divided among the 237 food pantry partners participating in the spring Simply Give campaign. In total, all four LPGA tournaments have generated more than $3.1 million for the Meijer Simply Give program.
Golf fans can now look forward to the 2018 Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give held June 11-18 at Blythefield Country Club. Visit meijerLPGAclassic.com for updates.
