New McCordsville Meijer Donates $25,000 to Local Community School

The new Meijer location in McCordsville, Ind. donated $25,000 to Mt. Vernon Community Schools as part of the store’s ribbon cutting ceremony May 2 to celebrate its official opening.
The donation will help establish CollegeChoice 529 savings accounts for all Mt. Vernon kindergarten students. The CollegeChoice 529 savings account is part of an initiative to inspire young students in Hancock County to pursue a post-secondary education.
As part of its ongoing community support, Meijer donates more than 6 percent of its net profit to charitable organizations annually.
