LPGA Pro Cristie Kerr expressed her excitement earlier this week about returning to this year’s Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give held June 13-18 at Blythefield Country Club.
“Coming back to Michigan and the fan support we have for this event is tremendous,” said Kerr at the tournament’s Media Day event. “The first year we played here, the fairways were lined eight-deep with people, and the players were looking at each other and asking, ‘is this a U.S. Open?’ because the fan turnout has been so tremendous.”
Tournament officials also announced commitments from the following pros: Inbee Park from South Korea, Brittany Lincicome from Florida, Gerina Piller, who attended last year’s Media Day event in Detroit, and Azahara Munoz from Spain.
Proceeds from the Meijer LPGA Classic – and all the week’s festivities – will once again benefit the Meijer Simply Give program that restocks the shelves of food pantries across the Midwest. The past three tournaments generated more than $2.1 million for Simply Give.
