Following the successful launch in Detroit-area stores last year, Meijer is expanding its home delivery service through a partnership with Shipt to customers across the Midwest.
Meijer will begin offering delivery services in Grand Rapids, Mich. March 29 and Fort Wayne, Ind. and Indianapolis April 13. The partnership will continue its expansion into additional markets throughout the year.
Meijer customers will be able to shop more than 55,000 items using the Shipt app or online and can request delivery in one hour, seven days a week. The expansion of service at Meijer stores will also help create an estimated 10,000 jobs in six states in 2017. Shipt will build networks of hundreds of personal shoppers and identify opportunities to support community organizations in each Meijer market offering the service.
Since September 2016, Shipt shoppers have made more than 65,000 deliveries to customers in Southeastern Michigan. For more information, visit www.shipt.com/meijer.
