The Detroit Police Athletic League (PAL) recognized Meijer, Ross Initiative in Sports for Equality (RISE), and the Detroit Pistons for their support of Detroit PAL programs at the 8th annual MVP Dinner Awards ceremony.
Detroit PAL announced Meijer as the presenting sponsor of the Willie Horton Field of Dreams, which will allow Detroit-area kids to play diamond sports, football, soccer and more. This sponsorship earned Meijer the esteemed Dave Bing “Leadership” award and demonstrates the retailer’s commitment to youth sports.
Detroit PAL also presented RISE and the Detroit Pistons with their most esteemed awards. The Detroit Pistons accepted The Varner/Tenbusch “Builder” Award for their continued support of the Detroit PAL recreational basketball program. And the Varner/Tenbusch “Game Changer” Award was awarded to RISE for their hard work in providing equality in sports and their partnership with Detroit PAL.
