Meijer is investing more than $375 million in the construction of seven new supercenters and the renovation of 22 different stores. While Indiana and Wisconsin will each open new locations, Michigan welcomes the first Meijer locations in the Upper Peninsula.
With the goal of continuously improving the customer shopping experience, renovation enhancements include improved store layouts, expanded grocery, health and beauty sections, lighting, heating, refrigeration, and parking improvements. Meijer is also adding new technology, resulting in more energy-efficient stores.
The new and remodeled stores have created thousands of jobs and contributed to millions of dollars in tax revenue for local communities.
The new Meijer supercenters opening in 2017 include:
- Escanaba, Mich.
- Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
- McCordsville, Ind.
- Franklin, Ind.
- Greenfield, Wis.
- Howard, Wis. (Green Bay)
- West Bend, Wis.
