The Indianapolis Colts and US Foods are teaming up with Lucas Oil Products, Meijer, and Citizens Energy Group this Thanksgiving holiday for the fifth annual “Horseshoe Helpings: From Our Home to Yours” event at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Colts alumni players, Colts Cheerleaders, Blue and more than 125 volunteers will distribute complete Thanksgiving meals to 2,000 Indianapolis families in need. These families were pre-selected through local community centers, churches and schools.
More than 43,000 pounds of food will be distributed through this event. Each family will receive a turkey, pumpkin pie, potatoes, corn, green beans, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy.
“Horseshoe Helpings” is a part of the Colts Community Tuesday program designed to activate Colts players in the community every week of the season during their day off from practice. To learn more about the Colts’ community efforts, click here.
