The fifth annual Goodwill Awards will recognize eight “best in class” partners for their hiring of Goodwill program participants, environmental sustainability, philanthropy and commitment to the Goodwill mission on Oct.10 at Frederik Meijer Gardens. This year’s award recipients will be Meijer, the city of Portland, Clark Retirement Community, Girl Scouts of Michigan Shore to Shore, Grand Valley State University, The McCahill Group, Steelcase and USF Holland Inc.
The Legacy Award will be given to Meijer for its long-standing relationship with Goodwill. Fred Meijer played a vital role in bringing the organization to Grand Rapids, Mich. This year, Goodwill of Greater Grand Rapids celebrates 50 years. The prestigious award also recognizes the retailer’s continuous donations, volunteers and service on Goodwill’s board of directors.
