Friday held competitive tournament play and a variety of culinary delights for the spectators at the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give at Blythefield Country Club.
We opened up our Grand Taste event to spectators for the first time ever at the Meijer LPGA Classic and it was a resounding success. More than 40 local restaurants and breweries offered endless samples to attendees at the all-you-can-eat-and-drink event. Grand Taste patrons not only experienced offerings from local culinary favorites, but also from their local supercenter. Meijer booths offered tasters the opportunity to see what they can make with ingredients and products from their local Meijer. Meijer favorites from Purple Cow ice cream to freshly rolled Meijer sushi were among the countless offerings enjoyed by spectators.
In addition to the Grand Taste, we were also fortunate to feature celebrity chef, Dean Fearing, at an evening event in the Blythefield Clubhouse. Chef Fearing brought the taste of Texas to West Michigan with his southern charm and “bold flavor, no borders” style of cooking. Fearing gave cooking demonstrations for the two featured dishes of the evening: chicken fried Texas quail on bourbon/jalapeno creamed corn with West Texas chow chow and Kraft Heinz BBQ sauce Texas style bold & spicy shrimp taco with mango pickled red onion salad.
