Congratulations to the Salvation Army of Kent County for raising more than $273K during its three-day December “Give Once; Bless Twice” campaign that will benefit a variety of social services.
This year’s campaign exceeded last year’s, which raised more than $176K in the three days leading up to Christmas.
Meijer was pleased to contribute to the campaign with a donation in honor of Senator Arthur Vandenberg.
“We are doubly delighted to join with The Salvation Army in this campaign,” Meijer CEO Hank Meijer said. “Doubly, because Grand Rapids’ own Sen. Arthur Vandenberg committed himself to a life of public service and valued the mission of The Salvation Army. And because his granddaughter, Barbara Pfeiffer, has done so much to enrich the lives of children in Camden, New Jersey through volunteering with The Salvation Army there.”
