The Meijer supply chain operations team shared the spirit of the holidays by once again participating in D.A. Blodgett – St. John’s Give to a Child in Need program. Over the holiday season, the organization created an opportunity to give Christmas gifts to children who may not otherwise receive one.
Together, they collected donations to support six children who are in foster care, group homes or who live with their families but do not have the means for gifts. The team shopped at their local Meijer store for a variety of gifts on the children’s lists. From needed items like winter coats and underwear, to wants like Little Mermaid and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toys, or items to prepare to live on their own like snow shovels or a set of silverware, they bought and wrapped presents to make their holidays merry and spread some cheer.
“There are so many ways to give back,” Meijer Supply Chain Planner Megan Albro said. “This event helps provide a special Christmas for children in our community, while building the relationships within our teams and supporting our stores during the busy holiday season.”
