Meijer longtime partner, Heart of West Michigan United Way, has teamed up with photographer Adam Bird to present “People Helping People” as part of ArtPrize Seven. This collection of narrative portraits celebrates a few of the people, volunteers and nonprofit organizations who are united in the common cause of improving our community. The artwork will line the front windows along the United Way Center.
The 21 individuals were nominated by local community organizations for the tireless work they do for youth, seniors, and underrepresented individuals and groups in the community. They are the unsung heroes among us; they are #ChampionsofChange.
ArtPrize attendees can visit the United Way Center, 118 Commerce Ave., during ArtPrize to learn more about these Champions of Change. The community is encouraged to share their “Champion of Change” on United Day’s Facebook page, or through Twitter using #ChampionsofChange.
