Meijer was built on a fundamental philosophy of supporting the communities where its customers and team members work and live, and many of its partners share the same values. Earlier this month, Meijer and its longtime partner, the Chicago Bears, teamed up to put families first during the Bears Cares 2015 Back-to-School Fair and the Bears Meijer Family Day.
During the fair, nearly 1,200 deserving students from the Bourbonnais and Kankakee area received $300 worth of school supplies, books, dental care, haircuts and physicals to prepare for the new school year.
Meanwhile, Meijer donated tickets so 40 Envision Unlimited clients – adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities – could attend the second annual Chicago Bears Meijer Family Fest at Soldier Field. The event included watching a team scrimmage, family-friendly games, live music and alumni autographs.
