The Mateen Cleaves 1 Goal, 1 Passion Summer Basketball Camps offer children of all Michigan communities a chance to better both their basketball and life skills during a three-day youth camp.
This year, the third annual, the camps will be held in Benton Harbor, Lansing and Flint, and will expand to Grand Rapids for the first time. Registration is now open and the entry fee has been reduced to a mere $1, as Meijer believes supporting the neighborhoods and children of Michigan to be a critical part of our connection to the community.
Professional NBA athletes from Michigan and Michigan State, including Draymond Green, Morris Peterson, Charlie Bell, Andre Hutson and Antonio Smith will be in attendance, with other former players and coaches making surprise appearances.
In addition to expanding their basketball game, camp-goers will benefit from valuable personal growth lessons to broaden their understanding of healthy and productive lifestyles. Daily lessons will range from environmental awareness, financial literacy and health and nutrition, to character building and goal setting.
