Congratulations to Cat Peters of the University of Michigan and Kaitlin Park of Northwestern University, who will compete in championship play during the second annual Meijer LPGA Classic presented by Kraft, held July 23-26 at Blythefield Country Club.
The two were among 33 other collegiate golfers who participated in the Meijer LPGA Collegiate Invitational, an 18-hole qualifying tournament to fill two sponsor exemption spots for the official four-day tournament. Cat Peters shot 2 under par with a score of 70, while Kaitlin Park shot par with a score of 72.
“I am excited to have this opportunity to not only play against some of the best college women, but also have the opportunity to see how my game measures against some of the best in professional women’s golf,” Peters said.
“Every player woke up today and wanted to be that Top 2. I knew I needed to keep my game consistent, have confidence and play the best I could,” Park said.
Meijer is excited to provide this exemption to the student athletes and wishes them the best of luck on the green alongside the world’s best women golfers.
