At Meijer, we understand the importance of being a good neighbor by supporting the communities where our customers and team members live and work. This rings true, especially as we prepare to open our first Wisconsin Meijer stores in Grafton, Kenosha, Oak Creek and Wauwatosa this summer.
To support our long-standing tradition of addressing hunger relief in the communities we serve, Meijer developed partnerships with Milwaukee area food banks before even breaking ground on those stores. Meijer donated two semi-trucks and trailers to both Hunger Task Force and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin, along with a total of more than 216,000 pounds of food.
Meijer also sponsored the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee’s Click For Kids Online Toy Drive, which helped bring smiles to thousands of youth members this past holiday season. To help reach the goal of providing gifts to 6,500 club members, Meijer matched the donation of every toy purchased through the drive.
In addition to our philanthropic efforts, Meijer is an active supporter of local sports teams. We announced our first partnership last year with the Milwaukee Brewers.
We look forward to continuing the tradition of supporting our local communities and hope to make a positive impact in Wisconsin through our partnerships.
