Although the main festival doesn’t take place until late February, some Meijer State Games of Michigan Winter Games sports competitions begin this weekend.
Athletes from across the state will compete in the freestyle and Nordic cross country ski events at Forbush Corner and Hanson Hills respectively, as well as weightlifting at CrossFit Grand Rapids. The majority of the Winter Games competitions will take place Feb. 20-22.
