The Magic Johnson Foundation partnered with Feed the Children and corporate supporters, including Meijer, to lend a hand to 2,000 Detroit-area families. The group provided food, essentials, coats and turkeys with all of the trimmings for the families’ Thanksgiving meal.
Earvin “Magic” Johnson helped the families celebrate at a local event – spending time with 400 children, making arts and crafts, face painting and distributing donated toys. Families received a turkey from Meijer, and 25 pounds of food and 10-pound box of essentials from contributing community partners.
With the support of partners, the Magic Johnson Foundation was able to deliver more than $700,000 worth of food, toys and personal care items to 5,000 individuals in need.
