Empowering Women through the Gazelle Girl Half Marathon & 5k

On April 17, Gazelle Sports will host its fourth annual Gazelle Girl Half Marathon & 5k, the only all women’s event of its kind in West Michigan. Meijer supports several health and wellness initiatives and is a proud sponsor of the event because Gazelle Girl connects women through movement, achievement, celebration and friendship in a fun way.
Last year, more than 3,500 women participated in the event, helping to not only make a positive impact on their own lives, but the lives of other women as well. To date, the organization has raised $90,000 for women’s charities in the community. Proceeds from the event benefit the Gazelle Sports Foundation, Grand Rapids Opportunities for Women (GROW), Kent County Girls on the Run and the YWCA of West Central Michigan.
Beyond the annual event, Gazelle Sports has established a Gazelle Girls community to empower women. Gazelle Girl Meetups offer women the opportunity to gain new friends, as well as the support they need, while connecting with other women who are training for, or considering training for, the Gazelle Girl Half Marathon & 5k.
