Along with the Grand Rapids Public Museum and Maranda, Meijer hosted a VIP Family Party on Aug. 26 to celebrate the opening of the museum’s “The Discovery of King Tut” exhibition.
This exclusive event was attended by 100 lucky contest winners who visited the recreated tomb of King Tut, participated in arts and crafts and enjoyed treats and refreshments, including a pyramid of desserts, from the Meijer bakery and deli. Attendees also received gift bags filled with goodies from the exhibit to take home.
“Meijer was built on a fundamental philosophy of supporting the communities where our customers and team members work and live,” said Cathy Cooper, senior director of community partnerships and giving. “This exhibit is rich in history for families to enjoy, and we are pleased to help sponsor such a breathtaking recreation.”
The exhibit includes more than 1,000 recreated artifacts from King Tut’s tomb, which was discovered in Egypt in 1922 by Howard Carter. To learn more about “The Discovery of King Tut,” click here.
