Despite rain delays, 144 LPGA professionals hit the golf course on Thursday, June 13, for the first round of the Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give. The crowds also braved the weather to take in the action.
Spectators enjoyed watching golf while some visited Discovery Land and the Kimberly Clark Family Care Area to take advantage of the diaper-changing and nursing rooms. This was the first tournament on the LPGA Tour that offered such spaces on the course.
On Thursday evening, Meijer celebrated the opening of the Grand Taste at this year’s tournament. A variety of vendors, restaurants and breweries served up local flavor to kick off the weekend. Grand Taste and the Grand Taste Garden will be open to the public June 14-16.
