Northern Michigan University and Meijer recently joined forces to unveil the new Meijer Student-Athlete Fueling Station in the NMU Superior Dome.
The station, which offers free grab-and-go snack and drinks to Wildcat athletes, is the latest way the retailer showed its sponsorship support for the university.
Meijer will contribute $15,000 annual in gift cards to keep the fueling station stocked.
“We greatly appreciate Meijer’s generous support, which is directly helping Northern Michigan student-athletes to be their very best,” said NMU Athletics Director Forrest Karr. “Having a recovery snack soon after finishing intense exercise helps speed up muscle repair and refills energy stores. With this partnership, Meijer is truly making a positive impact on student-athlete health and well-being.”
