The Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give is underway this week, welcoming 144 of the world’s best women golfers to Blythefield Country Club.
LPGA Professional Brittany Benvenuto took time away from the course to tour North Kent Connect with Meijer Executive Chairman Hank Meijer, and learn more about how its pantry benefits from the Meijer Simply Give program.
The program has generated more than $37 million since 2008 to stock the shelves of food pantries across the Midwest.
Benvenuto said she was impressed with the facility, and grateful to learn about the impact the Meijer LPGA Classic has made on the community. The past four tournaments have generated more than $3.1 million for the program, and has set a goal of raising another $1 million this year.
