After a record-breaking spring Simply Give campaign, the Rochester Hills Meijer awarded nearly $5,000 in donations to the Rochester Community House Kitchen Food Pantry.
“Rochester Community House’s Kitchen Pantry will be stocked to the ceiling when we gather all of the food items from this very, very generous $4,830 grant,” Executive Director Mary Lee Kowalczyk said wrote in an email to Meijer. “We are most appreciative. We could not do this without you.”
The food pantry was implemented in 2009, after members of the Rochester Community House learned that a neighboring food pantry was having difficulty keeping up with the requests. The pantry delivers meals to home-bound individuals, and serves those in need who come to their kitchen to eat a nice meal.
