The Northern Illinois Food Bank recently received an upgrade to its transportation fleet with a donation of two trucks from Meijer. As a source of nutritious meals to more than 71,000 people struggling with food security, the food bank serves 13 counties in northern Illinois, including Boone, DuPage, DeKalb, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, Ogle, Stephenson, Will and Winnebago.
The Northern Illinois Food Bank provides food through a network of 800 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, youth and senior centers, and has a number of other direct distribution programs to assist hungry neighbors. Along with offering hope to individuals and families struggling to put food on their table, the food bank offers innovative feeding programs. With a common goal of fighting hunger, Meijer is pleased to support the organization.
