Make-A-Wish® Michigan, in partnership with Meijer, welcomed 600 pre-registered walkers and raised $120,000 at Walk For Wishes® – West Michigan earlier this month. The event, which was held at the John Ball Zoo in Grand Rapids, Mich., featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony with wish kids Libby and Ella, who were both granted wishes to Walt Disney World® Resort. A fun-filled walk through the zoo was followed by a closing ceremony and family activities, including arts and crafts and face painting, along with snacks and giveaways provided by Meijer.
Powered by wish families, volunteers, donors and friends, Walk For Wishes is a fundraiser that celebrates the more than 8,000 wishes that have already been granted to Michigan kids, while raising funds for future wishes. The funds raised will help bring the life-changing impact of a wish this year to more than 400 Michigan children battling life-threatening medical conditions.
