Meijer elves across the Midwest surprised customers upon checkout on Dec. 13 at all 213 Meijer stores when everything in their shopping cart was “gifted” to them on behalf of Meijer. One customer was chosen at random at each of the retailer’s 213 stores throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky during the Very Merry Meijer event that helped spread some Christmas cheer.
Customer reactions were collected in a video to highlight the fun-filled events.
Very Merry Meijer totaled tens of thousands of dollars in gifts with carts ranging from $350 to upwards of $1,200 in value. The carts were brimming with holiday gifts, groceries and other fun items.
